Y5 at Winchester Cathedral

21/09/2017

On Monday, Year 5 went on an amazing trip to Winchester Cathedral.  When we arrived, we had a fabulous tour around the Cathedral itself, where we were told about the fascinating myths of Saint Swithun and Hardicanute, the Viking King.  We also learnt about an old Viking Cathedral that would have been about the size of a classroom!  Then we went to the museum, where we learnt about a 1000 year old pot that we got to hold.  Upstairs we dressed up and learnt all about the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings.  Then it was time for lunch!  Once we had finished, we painted some patterned letters.  We got to make some awesome brooches, but, before we knew it, it was time to go home!
