Times Tables Tournament!
Last week we held a Tables Tournament – a chance to practise and demonstrate our quick and instant knowledge of our multiplication tables up to 12 x 12. There were heats in individual classrooms and the winners of these went through to a year group round. The winners of the year group round were through to the Grand Final! There was one final for Years 3 & 4 and one for Years 5 & 6.
For the finals, the stage was set and Mr Deery’s wheelie chair was set in the middle of the stage. With the star cloth and stage lights shining and a one minute timer set, the teachers were ready to start firing questions at the lucky contestants! The atmosphere was electric and everyone was willing the finalists on! Our overall winner for the lower school was Joseph Horne and, from the upper school, was Freddie Randall.
We are very proud of everyone who participated as they showed real resilience and perseverance in learning their tables facts – it’s a very important maths skill. Well done to everyone! There are some photos below.
