OfSTED

21/01/2016

We are delighted to be able to share our latest OfSTED report. The recent inspection describes us as a ‘good’ school that prepares pupils well for their futures and caters for the needs of pupils carefully, sensitively and effectively. The report also highlights the talented and effective staff that work here, the high standards our pupils achieve during the time they are with us and our very strong relationships with parents.

The full OfSTED report can be read here.

OfSTED has judged our school as ‘good’ overall with all four key areas also judged as ‘good’ and the safety of our pupils as ‘outstanding’. This is testament to the hard work of all who are involved with Portway Junior School and all are to be congratulated. Of all the junior schools inspected in Hampshire in 2015, only 36% of these schools are judged as good (the rest are less than good). In this climate where it is increasingly hard to achieve a ‘good’ grade because of the demanding framework for inspection, our accomplishment is all the more pleasing.

Many thanks for all of the lovely messages we have received. They have been shared with staff and are much appreciated. We are very pleased with the outcome of our inspection and we would like to thank the staff, parents, governors and everyone involved with the school for their commitment, hard work and dedication. We are looking forward to continuing our good work and improving our school even further.
