School Council

The School Council is a very important part of Portway Junior School. Every class elects two councillors through a democratic voting process and these councillors represent the views of the class in the official School Council meetings.

Together the councillors discuss issues that are important to them in school, as well as fundraise for local, national and international charities. We support the Andover Food Bank with significant contributions from our Harvest Assemblies - this year we donated enough food to help over 80 families in crisis. More recently we organised Christmas shoeboxes with Operation Christmas Child and Samaritan's Purse - we sent over 100 shoeboxes to children less fortunate than ourselves.

Being a councillor is an important and enjoyable role.
