Y4 at Mottisfont Abbey
On Thursday 6th July Year 4 went to Mottisfont Abbey in Romsey; this was used as a hospital for injured soldiers and evacuees during WWII. We spent some time exploring the mansion – we went all over the house and then to the crypt underneath where the monks used to store food and pray. We looked at the colourful flowers and went to the rose garden and the walled garden where we had to sketch pictures of flowers. We also went to the adventure park down by the river and played on the equipment; we were also able to use the dams to control water levels and had to send a boat down the river. The weather was very sunny and roasting hot and we had a great day! Thank you to Miss Millar and everyone who helped to plan the trip and the volunteers who came with us too.
