Internet Safety Assembly

21/03/2017

You will all be aware that using online technology and the internet safely is a growing issue and an ongoing concern. In order to help our pupils keep themselves safe, we recently had a whole school assembly about this theme.

The assembly encouraged children to think about how they play a part in making the internet a positive place and to consider what they do if they experience anything negative online. The assembly highlighted the issues and concerns that young people have when they’re online and focussed on practical solutions and responding appropriately to negative content. also talked about age limits of many of the social networking sites, which is generally 13. The slides for the assembly are below so that you can look through this, with your children.

We also hope to provide some regular ‘Top Tips’ in the Portway Press, and through our social media, to support parents/carers in managing this at home as well.
