Year 6 Avon Tyrrell

Day 1

What a fantastic first day! We had a great lunch and dinner (everyone has eaten really well!). Our activities have been lots of fun. Some of us have been on pedalos, some of us have done archery and we've even been climbing too. We have had a great time walking in the New Forest and have enjoyed creating art through photography. I think you will agree, the children have taken some beautiful photos.

Day 2

Today has been fantastic! The children all had a brilliant night's sleep (which the staff were very pleased about!) and all have eaten really well too - the cooked breakfast being the favourite for many! We have had a beautiful sunny day and have enjoyed all our outdoor activities. Lots of children have used their school PRIDE value of resilience to climb higher than they thought they could, but best of all we have seen so much encouragement and positivity! This evening we had the night walk and orienteering, there were a few spots of rain but this didn't stop our determination to find all the locations.

We are looking forward to tomorrow's activity - some of us are starting with the zip wire and others are having their turn on the pedalos or low ropes.

Day 3

Day 3 has been another fantastic day at Avon Tyrrell. The children have continued to enjoy the food, with a Christmas dinner this evening being a big hit - especially with Christmas crackers too!

The activities have been great and our team work has been really good too. This evening's activity was a globe hunt which challenged us but was loads of fun!

Day 4

Today has been a beautiful sunny day. There was a crisp frost and the autumn colours in the New Forest have been wonderful to see. We have continued to build our teamwork skills with Geocaching and on the low ropes. Some of us have participated in Archery competitions and others have had their turn on the Zip wire!

Tonight, after dinner, we are going to have a campfire with lots of singing and marshmallows! But before that, we must face the challenge of packing!

See you tomorrow!
