Our PTA do a wonderful job supporting our school and helping us to raise much-needed funds to continue to enhance our offer for our pupils.
The aim of the PTA is to:
1) Enhance the education and wellbeing of pupils by providing or supporting provision of facilities and resources through fundraising.
2) Promote positive close co-operation between parents and school staff.
3) Provide activities and events to support and enhance school provision
4) Support the development of the school community
The PTA's purpose is "to strengthen the Portway family of pupils, parents and teachers through community events that raise funds for the school, which supports the experiences on offer to our children whilst helping to foster a love of learning."
More detail can be seen in the PTA's Volunteer Roles and Terms of Reference documents below.
There are some childcare facilities provided by junior school staff.

My Name is Mel and I am the new chair of Portway PTA. I have a daughter in year 3 and a 3 year old son and am very proud the be your chair this year. Alongside our Secretary Justine Holmes and our Treasurer Lisa Hammond we would like to give you a warm welcome to the PTA.
The PTA has a mission to raise funds for both the Infant and Junior school. Our aim is to help buy resources, contribute to school trips, and anything that can help enhance the children’s learning journey. We do this throughout the year, holding multiple events that are very enjoyable for the whole family. Not only do these events raise vital funds but they really help to bring the school community together. We couldn’t do this without the tremendous support from school staff and parent volunteers. All parents/carers/guardians and teachers are automatically members of the PTA but how much you join in is completely up to you.
For the PTA to function we need the help of volunteers. Everyone has something to add and help make the school experience for the children better. You can help by volunteering at an event, helping with preparations, taking up a role in our committee or even just sharing your ideas -everything makes a difference. The committee is full of working parents and we know that life can be really full on but any time you can contribute will always be appreciated.
Our PTA is a warm and welcoming environment, and we work hard to work against the stereotypes. Younger siblings are always welcome to help out (my 3 year old as stuffed many sweet jars!). We are incredibly lucky to have 100% support from the staff at both schools.
The PTA can be contacted on the email [email protected] or using my number 07881388792. We have a great WhatsApp group (code on the left) which keeps you up to date with all of the events.
If volunteering is not possible, there are many other ways for you to get involved:
